Accommodations
Bruce Farr has designed numerous successful boats, and this is an excellent example of why he is one of the pre-eminent naval designers. The boat is extremely capable both for cruising as well as racing, and the interior configuration has encompassed the best of both worlds. The forward cabin is a comfortable and large V berth, with lockers for storage. Just aft, to port, is the head and shower. There are thruhulls which are readily accessed under the sink in the head. The main salon has a settee to port and to starboard, and each will comfortably sleep and adult. The navigation station is located to starboard as one comes down the companionway, and aside from the desk there is also a tremendous amount of storage that has been created both under and behind the seat. On each side of the engine, under the companionway steps, is a large double cabin. There is storage both under the berths as well as in various lockers thorughout the cabins. The boat is cooled and heated with a Dometic reverse cycle 15000 BTU unit, and the control pad is centrally located in the salon area. It is difficult to imagine a more spacious and well laid out 3 cabin 37 foot boat! |
Galley
The L shaped galley is situated to port, as one enters the main cabin down the companionway stairs. There is a Stainless Steel propane 2 burner stove and oven, with a stainless steel bar across for support. Immediately forward is the fredge freezer, which is recessed under the countertop. The fridge is an Adler Barbour Cold Machine, and is 12 volt for offshore capability. Moving inboard are the twin Stainless Steel sinks, with hot and cold pressurized water. The cutlery drawer is located on the side of the cabinet housing the sinks. There are numerous lockers located alongside the hull, above the countertop, and they are used for storage of both plates and food. |

Engines
The engine is located under the companionway stairs, and is easily accessed from the front and the two sides. The new 30 HP Yanmar is renowned for its durability and quality, and will push the boat comfortably through the water. The saildrive makes backing the boat extremely easy, and propwalk is substantially reduced. The hatch on the starboard side allows for easy access to filters, as well as the injector pump. The hatch on the port side allows for easy access to the alternator and starter motor. The impellor is located in fornt, and the steps are easily removed to allow access to hoses, pulleys and the 2 batteries. |
Deck and sails
The design of the deck is to allow for easy maveuvering while under way, and for crew to be able to move quickly without too many constraints. The lines are led aft for the cockpit crew to be able to control sheets and halyards easily, and the carbon fiber spinnaker pole is located on a track on the mast. There is a rigid vang, rod rigging, and the running was all replaced in 2011. The two primary winches are Lewmar 48 ST's, and the secondaries are Lewmar 40 ST's. There are four rope clutches on each side for lines. The backstay is adjustable, and the mainsheet traveller is located directly in front of the helmsman. There are braces molded into the deck for stability while heeled, and the transom is open to displace any water quickly and safely. There is a cockpit shower recessed under the helmsman's seat, to port. The instruments are located above the companionway entrance. There is also a telescoping swim ladder located off the transom. The bimini and dodger were new as of December 2018. There is also a new bow canvas shade cover and a new wheel cover.
